Tuesday, Oct. 1 is National Night Out in Texas. The goal is to get to know our neighbors and enhance the relationship between our community and law enforcement.
Lakewood HOA will host a neighborhood block party from 5pm to 8pm at the HOA Park/Clubhouse.
The Austin Police Department is scheduled to attend.

Be an informed voter and meet the candidates for City Council District 10 and Texas House District 47 in the November general election. A non-partisan informational forum is scheduled for residents of Lakewood, Jester Estates and Northwest Hills at the Lakewood Clubhouse.

The Lakewood pool is now scheduled to reopen Friday, July 26. The pool maintenance contractor says it needs an extra day to power wash the pool because of weather delays. The pool had been closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week for the work.
(THE LATEST: After several delays, this is scheduled to start July 19 with the arrival of equipment and work to commence through the weekend from 7 am to 7 pm. The work is scheduled through at least Aug. 2.)
Eastbound Lakewood Drive at Loop 360 will be closed daily for utility work from Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 19 while work is underway on the Lakewood Drive/Spicewood Springs Road project.
Lane closures are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, weather permitting.
Traffic will use Wallace Drive to reach southbound Loop 360. Detour signs have been placed to alert drivers.
Everyone is encouraged to exercise great caution while driving and walking down Wallace Drive during this time. Wallace is narrower than Lakewood Drive and is popular with people pushing baby strollers or walking dogs.
