The paving work that was originally scheduled for this week (Oct. 18) for Quail Hollow, Grass Hollow and Coachwhip Hollow is being postponed. Austin Resource Recovery (city trash/recycling) crews are picking up heavy trash at the same time. A new date will be announced soon.

Lakewood’s communitywide semi-annual garage sale is back. Mark that calendar for Saturday, October 23, from 8 am to noon.

More than 30 households typically participate, and hundreds of buyers visit the community.

Here’s how it works: You conduct your own sale at your own home on your own terms. The HOA coordinates the scheduling and promotions. This way, instead of having dozens of smaller sales scattered around the neighborhood throughout the year, we coordinate our efforts to have more people come all on one morning. This keeps traffic to a minimum in the neighborhood the rest of the year.

Participation is free. You may place a small sign in your front yard if you want. Please remove the front yard signs by 1 pm.

Paving work is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 11 on Lakewood Hollow, Paintbrush, Cascada (Lower) and 7411-7501 Lakewood Drive. Work is scheduled to begin at about 8 a.m. and will be completed in one day as a seal coat project. Cars need to be off the street by 7:30 a.m. The clubhouse will have limited parking, and you may park on Lakewood Drive or Waldon Drive.

Please plan to have NO ACCESS to your street for 24 hours. The paving must dry overnight for a good result. Also, the center of the cul-de-sacs that have marked parking spaces will be restriped the next day, so please do not park in the cul-de-sac until the stripes are painted.
