The two nominees for Texas House of Representatives District 47 will speak in a candidate forum and meet-and-greet event from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 7 at the Lakewood Clubhouse.

State Rep. Vikki Goodwin is the Democrat Party nominee and Robert McCarthy is the Republican Party nominee in the newly redrawn House District 47. They are running in the November 8 general election.

As a result of the 2020 legislative redistricting process, residents of Lakewood and Jester Estates will no longer be represented by Rep. Donna Howard, an Austin Democrat.
