Annual Meeting this Sunday

All homeowners are cordially invited to attend the Annual Meeting this Sunday, June 2, at 1:30pm at the Lakewood Clubhouse.

If you cannot attend the meeting, please fill out the proxy form that was mailed to you and assign your proxy to someone who will be attending or assign it to one of the Board members. We need a quorum present in person or by proxy in order to conduct business. If we don’t get a quorum we have to schedule another annual meeting at an approximate cost of $700. We need your proxy or for you to attend in person.

BBQ will be served on a first come, first served basis.

Here’s what else you can expect at the Annual Meeting:

  • The Board President will make a brief presentation highlighting the accomplishments in 2018 and 2019.
  • Nominations and voting for two open positions on the HOA Board of Directors.
  • District 10 Council Member Alison Alter will attend and speak to the homeowners.
  • Review of the HOA financials and budget.
  • Homeowners remarks. Homeowners must have registered in advance at the Lakewood HOA office by May 24 to speak at the annual meeting.

A special invitation is extended to homeowners who purchased their homes during 2018 and 2019. For all residents, this is your chance to meet the Board members and officers who volunteer their time to serve all the homeowners, and protect your investment in the community of Lakewood.

There are two Board member positions open for the 2019 year. If you wish to run for the Board, please submit a short bio about yourself which can be handed out at the Annual Meeting with the ballots. Please contact the Lakewood office no later than May 17th to have your name placed on the ballot.

Saturday, April 27th set for Lakewood Semi-Annual Garage Sale

garage_sale_lakewood_2019Lakewood’s community-wide semi-annual garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th, from 8am to noon. Typically, more than 30 households participate and hundreds of buyers are attracted to the community.

Here’s how it works: you conduct your own sale at your own home on your own terms. The HOA coordinates the scheduling and promotions. This way, instead of having dozens of smaller sales scattered around the neighborhood throughout the year, we coordinate our efforts to have more people come all on one morning. This keeps traffic to a minimum in the neighborhood the rest of the year.

Participation in the garage sale is free. Lakewood HOA will place an ad in Craigslist and place a sign at Lakewood’s main entrance. You may also place a small sign in your front yard if you want. Please remove the front yard signs by 1pm.

For all residents, this is your chance to meet the Board members and officers who volunteer their time to serve all the homeowners, and protect your investment in the community of Lakewood. This is also a great opportunity to pickup your new pool bathroom keys.
