A big day: Pool reopens, TownSq launches!

Today is a milestone day for Lakewood.

First, the Lakewood HOA pool reopened after completion of an extensive renovation. And TownSq, the new community communication tool, has launched.

The pool work included new plaster and tile in the pool and children’s pool, a new fence around the children’s pool, and much more. See the full description of the work.

Repairs are still needed to the pool deck. Those repairs will be scheduled for a few days in June, and the pool will close temporarily while that work is underway.

Fobs are needed to enter the pool area, which is for Lakewood residents only.

Second, TownSq has arrived in Lakewood. If you submitted your email/cell phone to us before May 13, you will receive an invitation to create an account from TownSQ sometime today.

If you missed the deadline, you can still receive an invitation from hoa@lakewoodhoa.com by completing this form. Signs are all over Lakewood with a QR code to the same form. Learn more about TownSq here.

New HOA board takes office

The Lakewood HOA has a new board. Lee Rutledge was elected to another two-year term, and Lakewood homeowner Shasi Wilson was elected for the first time at the annual meeting May 12.

Board officers for the 2025-26 term are:

  • President: Lee Rutledge
  • Vice President: Dave Brockman
  • Secretary: John Harris
  • Treasurer: Shasi Wilson
  • Director At-Large: Shawn Jamail

The board thanked Michelle Polasek for her six years of outstanding service to our community with a framed certificate. Michelle was also board president for the last one-and-a-half years.

Here’s how to sign up for TownSq, Lakewood’s new communication app

Have you heard about Town Square yet? TownSq, as it’s known, is a web app that’s designed for easy communication between HOAs and residents. And it’s coming soon to Lakewood.

It’s easy to sign up. First, complete this consent form and type in your email address. After TownSq’s scheduled launch on May 20, download the TownSq app from the App Store on your iPhone or Google Play on your Android. Then you will receive a welcome email from TownSQ with instructions on how to create a password to access your account.

Lakewood’s TownSq will be easy to use. Look for easy access to HOA documents, simple processes for architectural requests, an event calendar and even a pet registry. Learn more here and stay tuned!

Pool makeover goes swimmingly

The pool is looking good. And about good as new — with a new floor, new tile, new fence for the children’s pool… and water! But it’s not quite ready. Next steps in this comprehensive renovation include power washing and patching parts of the deck this coming week. More updates coming soon.
