Storm Crashes Tree Into Pool Area

The high winds that accompanied a storm a couple of weeks ago caused one of the tall trees near the community center to come crashing down. Thankfully nobody was hurt and the only serious damage is to the fence surrounding the pool. The fence is expected to be repaired within the next couple of weeks. In the meanwhile, the pool is open and available for use. You may notice, however, some yellow caution tape around the damage to the fence.

Annual Meeting Tonight!

Just a reminder that tonight, Monday, February 3, is the Annual Meeting at the Lakewood Clubhouse at 7pm. A special invitation is extended to homeowners who purchased their homes during the past year. For all residents, this is your opportunity to meet the board members and officers who volunteer their time to serve all the homeowners, and protect our investment in the Lakewood Homeowners Association.

The Board President will make a brief presentation at the meeting highlighting the accomplishments in the past 12 months. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting tonight.

Garage Sale Scheduled for October 26th

Lakewood’s community-wide garage sale is scheduled for October 26th from 8am to 1pm. Annually, more than 30 households participate and each sales site has attracted hundreds of buyers.

Here’s how it works: you conduct your own sale at your own home on your own terms. All we do is coordinate the scheduling and promotions. This way, instead of having dozens of smaller sales scattered throughout the neighborhood throughout the year, we coordinate our efforts to have more people come all on one morning. This keeps traffic to a minimum in the neighborhood the rest of the year.

Participation in the garage sale is free. Lakewood HOA will place an ad in the Statesman and place a sign at the entrance to Lakewood. If you want smaller signs for your home you may place one in your yard. We ask that the signs be removed by 2pm.
