Saturday, October 26th set for Lakewood Semi-Annual Garage Sale

garage_sale_lakewood_october_2019Lakewood’s community-wide semi-annual garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th, from 8am to noon. Typically, more than 30 households participate and hundreds of buyers are attracted to the community.

Here’s how it works: you conduct your own sale at your own home on your own terms. The HOA coordinates the scheduling and promotions. This way, instead of having dozens of smaller sales scattered around the neighborhood throughout the year, we coordinate our efforts to have more people come all on one morning. This keeps traffic to a minimum in the neighborhood the rest of the year.

Participation in the garage sale is free. Lakewood HOA will place an ad in Craigslist and place a sign at Lakewood’s main entrance. You may also place a small sign in your front yard if you want. Please remove the front yard signs by 1pm.

If you have questions, please contact the HOA office at (512) 345-8367 on Mon-Wed-Fri from 8am to noon.

Friday is the Deadline for Feedback about the Proposed Loop 360 Changes

Conceptual_Overpass_at_Lakewood_DriveThe deadline for submitting feedback about the proposed Loop 360 improvements is this Friday! We encourage Lakewood residents to review the proposal and submit feedback via email at cwotip-c@txdot.gov or by visiting the virtual workshop anytime between now and Friday, June 21, 2019. The virtual workshop allows you to download and review workshop materials, provide comments or ask questions.

The project proposes removing the traffic signals on the Loop 360 main lanes at Lakewood Drive and Spicewood Springs Road (E)/Bluffstone Drive and adding an overpass (where Loop 360 main lanes go over the cross street) with non-signalized U-turns in both directions.

Additionally, at a recent local meeting of TxDOT and local residents, the following was also proposed:

  • A new right hand lane to allow for access to Loop 360.
  • Removing the landscaped island at the Lakewood community entrance for an additional lane. This was apparently proposed by a Jester resident.

If you don’t want TxDOT to remove our landscaped island or have additional opinions on the project, please make your voice heard via email at cwotip-c@txdot.gov or entering feedback on their virtual workshop website before this Friday, June 21, 2019.
